Palworld’s Random Pal Setting: A New World of Chaos and Surprise

Randomized spawns turn Palworld into a chaotic survival run where every zone can hide something far above your level.

Unpredictable spawns can turn even starter zones into high-risk encounters.

What the random pal setting changes

  • Starter areas can spawn level 50+ threats with no warning.
  • Dungeons ignore expected progression, so bosses appear anywhere.
  • Randomize-by-region is chaotic but more survivable than full random.

I recently tried out Palworld’s random pal setting, and oh boy, it was an experience like no other. I started a new game, and the second I spawned in, I knew I was in for a wild ride. The random pal setting, which allows for completely unpredictable Pokemon-like creatures to spawn in the environment, is a game-changer.

As soon as I entered the beginner’s island, I got hit with an attack from a level 54-59 monster. It was literally impossible to capture any of these beasts without getting myself killed multiple times. It took me a good hour or so before I managed to craft my first club and take down one of those pesky critters.

What’s even more impressive is the dungeon system. I found out that the boss doesn’t care about level restrictions in dungeons, which means you can encounter massive monsters anywhere, at any time. The experience was hilarious, if not a bit frustrating. I mean, who wouldn’t want to sneak around as a low-level character, avoiding every single enemy just to make it to the next area without dying?

One of my favorite moments was trying to capture some sort of bee-like creature that was camping out at the home point in the starter area. Those kamikaze bees were relentless, and I had to come up with a strategy to sneak past them while they were attacking me nonstop.

The random region setting also has its own set of challenges and surprises. It seems that this mode is not as forgiving as the completely randomized option, but it’s still incredibly exciting. You’ll find yourself dealing with level 30-55 pals everywhere you go, even in areas where the maximum pal level is only 15. I had to restart my game a few times due to getting myself killed repeatedly by these overpowered monsters.

In contrast, the completely random option takes away all sense of progression and sanity. It’s like playing Dark Souls, but with cute, furry creatures instead of dragons. You’ll get your pal meter broken, your base destroyed, or even worse, you’ll have a hard time capturing any pals because they’re just too powerful.
