Icarus Crossplay (Steam & Epic)
Icarus dedicated servers support players from both Steam and the Epic Games Store. While "Click-to-Join" invites may not always bridge the platforms, the server itself is platform-agnostic.
Server Configuration
To ensure your server accepts all connections, verify ServerSettings.ini contains:
[ServerSettings]
bCrossplayEnabled=True
Ensure your server ports (default 17777 UDP and 27015 UDP) are properly forwarded.
How to Join (Cross-Platform)
The most reliable way for Epic Games players to join a server hosted by a Steam user (or vice versa) is via Direct IP.
Method 1: Server Browser
- Launch Icarus.
- Select your character and click Join.
- Navigate to the Dedicated Servers tab.
- Use the search bar to find the server name.
Method 2: Direct IP (Recommended)
If the server doesn't appear in the browser due to backend issues:
- Go to the Dedicated Servers tab.
- Click the Direct Connect button.
- Enter the IP Address and Port (e.g.,
192.168.1.50:17777). - If the server has a password, enter it when prompted.
Troubleshooting
- "Connection Failed": Verify that your firewall allows traffic on UDP port 17777.
- Version Mismatch: Icarus updates frequently. Ensure both the server (via SteamCMD) and your client are on the exact same version.
