The Front Save Management Guide

Protect your The Front server with manual backups and understand the folder structure.

💾 Critical Save Data

The specific folder containing your characters, world, and accounts is GameStates.

  • Path: ProjectWar/Saved/GameStates/
  • This folder contains sub-folders like Players, Worlds, and Accounts.

Manual Backup

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Navigate to ProjectWar/Saved/.
  3. Copy the entire GameStates folder to a backup location.
  4. (Optional) Backup ServerConfig.ini from the manager folder if you have custom settings.

Restoring a Backup

  1. Stop the server (Crucial).
  2. Navigate to ProjectWar/Saved/.
  3. Delete or rename the current GameStates folder (e.g. to GameStates_OLD).
  4. Copy your backup folder and rename it exactly to GameStates.
  5. Restart the server.

Note on Updates: Major game updates may break older saves. Always backup before applying a patch.
