ARK: Survival Ascended Unofficial Login Fix
One of the more frustrating ASA support patterns is when the server shows up and even accepts a connection attempt, but players stall on the login flow or bounce back to the menu. Community reports after several 2025 patches pointed at a simple mismatch surprisingly often: the server and the client were not using the same BattlEye mode.
Check BattlEye Mode First
| Server Mode | What Players Must Do |
|---|---|
| Standard BattlEye enabled | Launch normal ASA and keep protected-session filters visible |
-NoBattlEye enabled on the server |
Use the No BattlEye AntiCheat, Unofficial Servers Only client launch path |
| Mixed or unclear setup | Standardize the server first, then tell every player to fully restart the client |
Known-Good Startup Example
ArkAscendedServer.exe TheIsland_WP?listen?SessionName=MyASA -Port=7777 -QueryPort=27015 -RCONPort=27020
# If you intentionally run without BattlEye:
ArkAscendedServer.exe TheIsland_WP?listen?SessionName=MyASA -Port=7777 -QueryPort=27015 -RCONPort=27020 -NoBattlEye
Fix Checklist
- Confirm whether the dedicated server is meant to run with or without BattlEye.
- Tell every player to launch the matching ASA client mode.
- Restart the client completely after any patch instead of retrying from the main menu.
- Verify the server build and client build are on the same version before retesting.
- Check browser filters for unofficial, passworded, and protected sessions.
Symptom overlap: login failures can look like networking, but version mismatch and anti-cheat mismatch produce very similar behavior. Fix those two before you start changing ports.
When Only Some Players Fail
If one player can join and another cannot, the server is probably not dead. Compare client launch mode, verify file integrity, and test direct favorites. If every client fails after a game update, treat it as a version parity problem until proven otherwise.
