Palworld: Egg Incubator & Hatching Optimization
Breeding the perfect Pal with 4 Gold passives is a marathon, not a sprint—but the **Hatching Time** doesn't have to be. By default, large eggs can take up to 72 real-world hours on hard difficulty. Understanding how to manipulate server settings and utilize environmental bonuses can reduce this drastically.
1. The Server Setting
The variable PalEggDefaultHatchingTime is a multiplier. Setting it to 0 makes all eggs hatch instantly. Setting it to 1 is the normal default for dedicated servers.
2. Temperature HUD
Every egg has a preferred temperature. A "Comfy" egg hatches 100% faster. Check the incubator's UI to see if it says "State: Neutral," "A bit cold," or "A bit hot."
3. Electric Incubator
Unlocked at Level 36, the Electric Egg Incubator automatically adjusts its internal temperature to match the egg's needs, removing the need for heaters or coolers.
How to Change Hatching Time (Admin)
If you are the server owner, you can change the global hatching speed across the whole world:
- Navigate to your Supercraft Panel and Stop the server.
- Open the Basic Server Settings (or edit
PalWorldSettings.inimanually). - Locate the setting
PalEggDefaultHatchingTime. - Change the value:
- 0: Instant hatching.
- 0.1: 10x faster than default.
- 1.0: Standard dedicated server speed.
- Save and Start your server.

Note: Multiple heaters or coolers do not stack. One Electric Heater provides the same internal temperature boost to an incubator as five heaters. To reach higher temps, you must physically move the base to a hotter biome.
