Project Zomboid: BattleMetrics Integration & Promotion

**BattleMetrics** is the premier platform for game server discovery, ranking, and advanced remote management. By connecting your Project Zomboid server to BattleMetrics, you increase your visibility to thousands of potential players and gain access to powerful moderation tools that work outside of the game client.

1. Global Visibility

The BattleMetrics "Server List" ranks servers based on uptime, player count, and reviews. Appearing on the first page can lead to a consistent stream of new players.

2. Advanced RCON

With BattleMetrics RCON (a paid service), you can manage your server from a mobile browser, set up automated tasks, and view detailed player history across all servers.

3. Real-Time Tracking

Monitor your server's player counts over 24-hour, 7-day, and 30-day cycles to identify your community's peak hours and optimize events accordingly.

How to Connect Your Server to BattleMetrics

  1. Enable Public Visibility: Open your server_settings.ini and ensure Public=true. The server must be online for BattleMetrics to find it.
  2. Create an Account: Register at BattleMetrics.com.
  3. Server Identification: Go to "Servers" > "Add Server" and search for your server's IP Address and Port (usually 16261).
    • Note: It may take 15–30 minutes for a brand-new server to appear in the BattleMetrics global index.
  4. RCON Link (Optional): If you want to use the remote console, provide your RCON Port and RCON Password (configured in your Advanced settings) to the BattleMetrics dashboard.

How to Rank Higher in the Server List

Ranking isn't just about player count; the BattleMetrics algorithm considers several "Quality of Life" factors:

  • Uptime Percentage: Servers with 99.9% uptime are ranked significantly higher than those that restart frequently or have poor stability.
  • Detailed Descriptions: Use clear tags in your server name (e.g., "[PVP] [B42 Ready] [No Grief]").
  • Direct Connection: Ensure your "Join Link" is updated so players can click one button to launch Zomboid and connect directly.
