Project Zomboid: Task Scheduler
Running a server 24/7 requires automation. You can't be online every 6 hours to type "Server Restarting in 5 minutes". Use the **Scheduler** to run RCON commands automatically.
1. Timezone
The scheduler runs on **UTC** time. Always convert your local time to UTC before setting tasks.
2. Syntax
Commands entered here are sent directly to the console. Do not include a slash / prefix.
3. Usage
Common uses: Restart Warnings, Auto-Saves (if not using internal save), and "Message of the Day" broadcasts.
Example 1: Automated Restart Warning
If you have an auto-restart set for 12:00 UTC:
- **11:45 UTC:**
servermsg "WARNING: Server restart in 15 minutes!" - **11:55 UTC:**
servermsg "WARNING: Server restart in 5 minutes! Land your helicopters!" - **11:59 UTC:**
servermsg "RESTARTING NOW. SAVING..." - **11:59:30 UTC:**

Example 2: Daily Loot Respawn
Some admins force a "Soft Reset" or loot cleanup daily.
- Command:
chopper(Triggers helicopter event to stir up zombies) - Command:
startrain(Forces weather change)
How to Set it Up
- Go to the **"Scheduled Tasks"** tab in your Panel.
- Click **New Task**.
- Select **"Send RCON Command"**.
- Enter the command (e.g., `servermsg "Welcome to the server!"`).
- Set the recurring interval (e.g., Every 6 Hours).
- Save.
