Configure Difficulty - V Rising Wiki

V Rising: Configuring Server Difficulty

In **V Rising 1.0**, the difficulty setting controls enemy health, damage, and even movesets. The introduction of **Brutal** mode adds new mechanics to boss fights, making it a completely different experience.

0 - Relaxed

Enemies deal less damage. Sun damage is reduced. Blood drains slower. Perfect for base-building enthusiasts.

1 - Normal

The standard experience. Bosses have their standard movesets. Recommended for most first-time players.

2 - Brutal

Enemies deal massive damage (+70%). Bosses have New Phases and mechanics. Loot drops are slightly improved.

How to Change Difficulty

You can change the difficulty level in your `ServerGameSettings.json` file or via the Supercraft Panel.

  1. Navigate to your **Supercraft Panel** -> **Game Settings**.
  2. Find the setting **GameDifficulty**.
  3. Enter the numeric value:
    • 0 = Relaxed
    • 1 = Normal
    • 2 = Brutal
  4. Save and Restart the server.

Manual File Edit

If you are editing the file directly:

  • Path: /save-data/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json
  • Find: "GameDifficulty": 1,
  • Change the number to your desired level.

Warning: You can change difficulty mid-wipe, but be aware that players geared for Normal mode might get instantly annihilated by Brutal mode bosses. It is best to decide on a difficulty at the start of a wipe.

Choose your challenge. Host your V Rising server with Supercraft and swap difficulty settings instantly without touching a config file.
