Configuring Weather and Day/Night Cycles in VEIN
Create grueling winters or fast-paced days with custom environment timers. Modifying the weather impacts visibility, temperature, and zombie aggression.
The Impact of the Day/Night Cycle
In VEIN, nighttime is significantly more dangerous. Visibility plummets, and undocumented threats become bolder. By modifying the length of the day, you can control the overall tension of your server.
Configuring Engine.ini and Config.ini
Time scale parameters are typically defined inside your configuration files. Navigate to your server's Engine.ini or Config.ini.

DayNightLengthMultiplier=1.0
NightTimeSpeedMultiplier=1.5
Understanding the Multipliers
DayNightLengthMultiplier: Changing this from 1.0 to 0.5 will make the entire 24-hour in-game cycle pass twice as fast. Setting it to 2.0 makes days and nights drag out for deep roleplay sessions.NightTimeSpeedMultiplier: Targets exclusively the dark hours. Setting this higher allows players to skip through the terrifying nights faster, while lowering it turns the server into a hardcore survival horror experience.
Weather Systems
Weather variation (rain, fog, blizzards) is handled dynamically but can be forced via admin console commands in-game. For example, typing Weather.ForceStorm 1 can immediately reduce visibility to zero for an impromptu server event.
