Hytale Server Not Showing in the Browser
If your server runs but does not appear in the browser, the most common causes are UDP port forwarding, missing authentication, or listing settings. Follow the checks below.
Quick Checks
| Check | Why It Fails | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| UDP 5520 open | QUIC traffic blocked by firewall/NAT | Forward UDP 5520 and allow it in firewall |
| Server authorized | Unauthenticated servers may not list | Run /auth login device and recheck |
| Bind address | Server bound to localhost | Use --bind 0.0.0.0:5520 |
Step-by-Step Fix
- Confirm the server is reachable. Try direct join with
your.ip.address:5520. - Re-auth the server. See Authentication Failed.
- Open UDP 5520. Use the firewall rules in Server Setup Commands.
- Check discovery settings. If you use Steam listing, follow Steam Server Discovery.
- Browser caching. Early Access browser caching is common. See Server Browser Tips.
Example Launch
java -jar HytaleServer.jar --assets Assets.zip --bind 0.0.0.0:5520
Note: Hytale uses QUIC over UDP. Opening TCP ports alone will not make the server visible.
Keep your world visible. Host your Hytale server with Supercraft for managed ports and listing checks.
