FICSMAS Event Guide

FICSMAS: The Holiday Production Event

FICSMAS is an annual seasonal event in Satisfactory, typically running from **December 1st to January 18th**. It entirely changes the game by introducing Gifts, a new Tech Tree, and festive factory parts. This guide covers everything you need to maximize your holiday production.

1. The Gifts

Giant gifts parachute from the sky! You don't need to shoot them; just interact (E) to collect them. They are the primary resource for all holiday crafting. Gifts spawn throughout the world, with higher concentrations near the HUB.

2. The Calendar

A giant Advent Calendar appears in the HUB behind the terminal. Open a slot every day to get free items, including the crucial **Red Ornament** needed to start the research tree. The calendar provides 25 days of rewards, culminating in special items.

3. Snowballs

The **Snowball** is an alternate ammo for the Nobelisk Detonator. It stacks up to 500 (vs 50 for regular bombs) and deals the same explosive damage. Snowballs are essential for clearing large areas of creatures quickly during the event.

FICSMAS Production Chain

The Tree System

  • Automatic Generation: FICSMAS Trees generate 15 Gifts/minute automatically when powered.
  • Multiple Trees: You can build multiple trees for exponential gift production.
  • Power Requirements: Each tree requires 10 MW power when active.
  • Space Efficiency: Stack trees vertically to minimize factory footprint.
  • Production Ratio: Plan 1 tree per 10-15 Constructors for balanced processing.

Gift Processing

Gift Collection System

  • Automatic Pickup: Gifts spawn automatically near trees when powered.
  • Manual Collection: Players can also collect gifts from natural spawns.
  • Storage Needs: Gifts require significant storage space for efficient processing.
  • Stack Size: Gifts stack to 500, allowing long production runs.

Ornament Production Chain

Convert Gifts into useful ornaments through this chain:

  1. Gift → Blue Ornament: First conversion step in the production chain.
  2. Blue Ornament → Yellow Ornament: Advanced crafting requiring additional gifts.
  3. Yellow Ornament → Red Ornament: Final production step for main building material.
  4. Red Ornament → Decoration Bundles: Creates decorative items and Wonder Star components.
  5. Decoration Bundles → Copper/Iron Ornaments: Specialized decorative materials.

Production Balancing

  • Gift Sources: Balance Tree production with natural gift collection.
  • Constructor Setup: Use multiple Constructors for parallel ornament production.
  • Storage Buffer: Add storage between conversion stages to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Alternate Recipes: Use alternate recipes to optimize material usage.

Snowball Production

  • Recipe Requirements: Requires 1 Nobelisk Detonator + 1 Yellow Ornament = 50 Snowballs.
  • Nobelisk Production: Requires Nobelisk Detonators and power infrastructure.
  • Efficient Setup: Build dedicated Snowball production line away from main factory.
  • Stack Management: Snowballs stack to 500, plan production accordingly.
  • Usage Planning: Calculate expected usage based on creature clearing needs.

The Wonder Star

Ultimate Event Goal

The Wonder Star is the massive, glowing tree topper that represents completing the FICSMAS event:

  • Star Requirements: 500 Stars total needed for final upgrade.
  • Star Production: Requires Decoration Bundles + Copper/Iron Ornaments in complex chain.
  • Production Complexity: Comparable to Tier 5/6 manufacturing in complexity.
  • Power Demands: Significant power infrastructure for efficient star production.
  • Reward: Massive glowing star visible across the entire map.

Production Setup

  • Dedicated Lines: Build separate production lines for each ornament type.
  • Assemblers: Use Assemblers for complex star recipes.
  • Power Grid: Ensure dedicated power for star production to prevent main factory interference.
  • Storage Capacity: Plan for large material storage during star production phase.
  • Timeline Planning: Allow several hours of production for Wonder Star completion.

Strategies for Different Play Styles

Single Player Optimization

  • Focused Production: Build compact, efficient production lines.
  • Manual Collection: Supplement tree production with manual gift gathering.
  • Staggered Construction: Build production capacity gradually to manage power.
  • Storage Management: Careful storage organization with limited space.

Multiplayer Server Strategies

  • Specialization: Assign players to specific production tasks (one on trees, one on processing).
  • Gift Farms: Build large tree farms (20-30 trees) for multiplayer gift economy.
  • Lag Prevention: Monitor server performance during high production periods.
  • Distributed Production: Spread production across multiple players to reduce individual load.
  • Resource Sharing: Coordinate gift and ornament distribution across the team.

Factory Design Considerations

  • Tree Placement: Position trees for optimal gift collection and minimal interference.
