Satisfactory 1.2: The Fluid Update News
Last verified: June 14, 2026.
Coffee Stain Studios shipped the first major expansion since the 1.0 release. Satisfactory Version 1.2 is now fully released on the stable branch (since June 2, 2026), after roughly eleven weeks in Experimental that began March 17, 2026. It focuses on the core plumbing of your factory: the Fluid Update eliminates much of the calculation frustration of long-distance pipelines and introduces entirely new ways to move liquids across the map. The 1.2 release also brings back the weather system (rain returns) and a full Game Modes menu.
🚛 Tanker Trucks
No more pipes across the desert. Use the new high-capacity Tanker Trucks and specialized Fluid Truck Stations to transport fuel and water via automated vehicles.
💧 Fluid Physics Overhaul
The 1.2 update reworks how internal buffers and head-lift behave in piping networks, improving flow stability for massive dedicated server saves.
From 1.0 to 1.2
The transition from 1.0 to 1.2 focused on logistics variety and bringing the whole game forward onto Unreal Engine 5.6.1. The headline change for liquids is being able to move them by vehicle instead of relying on pipes everywhere.
Key Features in v1.2
- Fluid Truck Stations: Load and unload raw liquids onto vehicles without packaging them first.
- Tanker Trucks: A specialized vehicle variant with a large internal fluid reservoir.
- Reworked Vehicle Paths: Routes are now placed like infrastructure rather than replayed from a manual drive, improving autopilot reliability.
- Weather and Game Modes: Rain returns, and a new Game Modes menu adds world randomization and cost multipliers.
Hot Tip: The new Fluid Truck Stations slot into your existing truck loops, but budget extra power headroom for the high-pressure pumping before you wire them into a tight grid.
Server admin note: The 1.2 stable launch was reported as buggier than the Experimental branch it came from, so on a busy server it pays to back up and update during a quiet window. After updating, re-check any mods for 1.2 compatibility - an incompatible mod can crash a dedicated server on boot.
