Satisfactory: Scheduling Automatic Server Restarts
Maintaining a high-performance Satisfactory server, especially one that runs 24/7 with many active logistics and belt calculations, requires periodic maintenance. The Server Restart Schedule reloads the running session once a day at the time you pick; the server logs that it is "rebooting the session to maintain clock stability/game performance".
1. The Restart Interval
Satisfactory built-in server settings allow you to choose a specific hour within a 24-hour cycle. Currently, there is no way to disable this completely, but you can hide it during off-peak hours.
2. Importance of Restarts
Restarts help mitigate long-term memory accumulation (leaks) and ensure that "Ghost Items" on belts or glitched vehicle paths are reset to their correct states.
3. Universal Time (UTC)
The internal clock of the Satisfactory server engine runs on UTC (Universal Coordinated Time). You must calculate the offset for your local timezone to avoid midday interruptions.
How to Change Your Restart Schedule
- Navigate to the Server Manager in the Satisfactory main menu.
- Select your server and open the Server Settings tab.
- Locate the Server Restart Schedule setting. The game describes it as the time of day the server restarts: set it to 17:00 and it restarts at 17:00 every day.
- Drag the slider to your desired hour.
- Note: If it is 10:00 PM local time but 4:00 AM UTC, and you want it to restart at 2:00 AM local time, you must set the slider to 8:00 AM UTC.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
Timezone Conversion Guide (Examples)
| Timezone | Offset from UTC | If you want 3:00 AM Local... |
|---|---|---|
| EST (Eastern US) | -5 Hours | Set Slider to 08:00 |
| GMT (London) | +0 Hours | Set Slider to 03:00 |
| CET (Central Europe) | +1 Hour | Set Slider to 02:00 |
| AEDT (Sydney) | +11 Hours | Set Slider to 16:00 (Previous Day) |
Warning: The server warns connected players before it restarts, at the times the game ships in its config: 60 minutes, 10 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds and 10 seconds before. If you are in the middle of a complex logistics task or fighting an Elite Stinger, finish up when the 2 minute warning appears. Any unsaved progression since the last save may be lost depending on your Autosave frequency.
