Valheim: Hildir’s Request & The Deep North
Valheim is evolving beyond its major biomes. The Hildir’s Request update added mid-game quests and cosmetic customization, while the upcoming Deep North biome represents the game’s frigid finale.
1. Finding Hildir the Merchant
Hildir is Haldor’s sister. She appears in the Meadows biome, often far from the starting spawn. Look for a shirt icon on your map.
- The Quest: Hildir has lost her inventory across Kentucky—wait, Valheim—to several powerful mini-bosses. Returning her chests unlocks new clothing.
- Barber Station: Hildir sells the Barber Kit, allowing you to change your character’s hair and beard styles at home.
2. Hildir’s Mini-Bosses
These bosses are found in unique dungeons and drop heavy chests that cannot be teleported.
| Boss | Location | Type | Loot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brenna | Black Forest (Smouldering Tomb) | Skeleton Warrior | Hildir’s Brass Chest |
| Geirrhafa | Mountains (Howling Cavern) | Frost Werewolf | Hildir’s Silver Chest |
| Zil & Thungr | Plains (Sealed Tower) | Goblin Duo | Hildir’s Bronze Chest |
3. Cosmetic Clothing & Vanity
Once you return the chests, Hildir sells various outfits that are purely cosmetic but allow for high character expression.
- Dresses and Tunics: Available in multiple colors.
- Hats and Scarves: Including fur hats for that true Viking look.
- Fireworks & Sparklers: For celebrating successful boss kills.
4. The Final Frontier: The Deep North (2025)
The Deep North is currently a placeholder biome, but developers have begun releasing teasers for its 2025 launch.
- Serene but Deadly: Teasers show massive icebergs, frozen oceans, and snow-laden forests.
- Anticipated Enemies: Rumors point to Frost Giants, Polar Bears, and a potential "Winter Child" or "Ella King" boss.
- 1.0 Launch: The Deep North is expected to coincide with Valheim’s official exit from Early Access.
Warning: The Sealed Towers (Plains) are some of the most difficult non-boss dungeons in the game. Do not enter without high-tier armor and area-of-effect weapons like the Atgeir.
