Abiotic Factor Dedicated Server Update Guide
When Abiotic Factor patches, the server must be updated to the same build or players will fail to connect. Use SteamCMD to update the dedicated server tool.
Update Essentials
- Dedicated server app ID: 2857200 (Steam tool)
- Platform: Windows-only dedicated server
- Best practice: Back up the world before updating
Update with SteamCMD
Run the command below (adjust the install directory as needed):
steamcmd +force_install_dir ./abiotic_server +login anonymous +app_update 2857200 validate +quitRestart the Server
- Stop the server.
- Run the SteamCMD update command.
- Start the server again and verify it appears in the browser.
Common Version Mismatch Fixes
Players get "Version Mismatch"
Update the server with SteamCMD and fully restart. Clients may also need to update from Steam.
Server disappears after a hotfix
Hotfixes often require a fresh app_update. Run SteamCMD again and restart.
