Satisfactory: Customizing Your Server Identity
When you first launch a Satisfactory dedicated server, it often has a generic name or matches to ID given by your host. To make your server easily identifiable for your friends or to build a unique community identity, you'll want to customize both your **Server Name** and your **Session Name**. This guide explains the difference between these and how to change them.
1. Server Name
This is the "Friendly Name" seen in the Server Manager list. It helps distinguish between multiple servers you might have claimed (e.g., "Main Base" vs "Test Lab").
2. Session Name
This is the name of the save file and the world itself. Changing this affects how the save appears in the Load menu but doesn't change the Server Name.
3. Admin Ownership
Only the "Claimant" or an authenticated Admin can change these names. This prevents random players from renaming your industrial empire while you are offline.
