Upload World - Terraria Wiki

Terraria: Uploading a World

Moving a world from your PC to a dedicated server allows you to share your single-player creations with friends online. This process involves uploading the file and telling the server to load it.

1. Find Local File

Your saves are at: Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds\.

2. Upload to Server

Using the File Manager, upload to: /terraria/Worlds/.

3. Config Change

Crucially, you must change the **World Name** in the server settings to match the filename (without .wld).

Step 1: Preparation

  1. On your PC, go to Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds\.
  2. Find your world file (e.g., CrimsonFortress.wld).
  3. **Tip:** Rename it to something simple like world1.wld to avoid issues with spaces or special characters on Linux servers.

Step 2: Uploading

  1. Stop your Supercraft Server.
  2. Open the **File Manager**.
  3. Navigate to the /terraria/Worlds/ folder.
  4. Click **Upload** using the sidebar or Drag & Drop your world1.wld file.
  5. Wait for the progress bar to complete (green checkmark).

Step 3: Activating the World

Just uploading it isn't enough; the server doesn't know it exists yet.

  1. Go to the **Startup** or **Server Settings** tab in your control panel.
  2. Find the **World Name** field.
  3. Enter the exact name of your file excluding the .wld extension.
Example: If file is world1.wld, enter world1.
  4. Save Settings and **Start the Server**.

Troubleshooting: If the server generates a generic "World 1", it means it couldn't find your file. Check capitalization! Linux is case-sensitive. World1.wld is different from world1.wld.
