Setting Up PvP Zones and Rulesets in VEIN
Transform your co-op survival experience into a tense, player-vs-player wasteland where the living are more dangerous than the dead.
Establishing Hostilities
A VEIN server can bounce between strict cooperative play and absolute anarchy through a single line of code in the Config.ini file.
The Golden Ruleset
[ServerSettings]
bEnablePvP=True
bFriendlyFire=False
PvPDamageMultiplier=1.0
How to Implement
bEnablePvP: Setting this to True allows players outside of a registered group/faction to damage one another with bullets, melee weapons, and vehicles.bFriendlyFire: If set to False alongside PvP=True, you can shoot at enemies without worrying about clipping your cooperative squad mates.
Safe Zones
Currently, defining strict coordinate-based safe zones natively requires administrative oversight or specific mod maps. Server admins usually enforce physical safe zones (like a designated Trading Post) by banning aggressors caught via server logs or in-game reports.
