Avorion Galaxy Seed & Difficulty Guide: Choose Before First Boot

Avorion Galaxy Seed and Difficulty

The seed and initial difficulty shape a galaxy that can last for months. Decide them before the first real playthrough, because editing server.ini later does not turn an existing galaxy into a different universe.

Planning table

DecisionWhen it mattersSafe experiment
SeedGalaxy generation.Create a new named galaxy.
DifficultyChallenge and economy balance.Test on a copy before a public launch.
ModsShips, scripts and progression.Use a separate galaxy for the mod trial.

Keep the original safe

  1. Record the seed, difficulty, branch and mod list.
  2. Make a fresh named galaxy for a new experiment.
  3. Do not overwrite the established galaxy to test a new rule.
  4. Back up the working galaxy before changing its configuration.
“New seed” and “new save folder” are the same class of decision: preserve the old galaxy and give the experiment its own identity.

For configuration details, see server.ini settings and Avorion server hosting.
