Icarus Crossplay Setup (Steam/Epic)

Icarus Crossplay (Steam & Epic)

Icarus dedicated servers support players from both Steam and the Epic Games Store. While "Click-to-Join" invites may not always bridge the platforms, the server itself is platform-agnostic.

Server Configuration

To ensure your server accepts all connections, verify ServerSettings.ini contains:

[ServerSettings] bCrossplayEnabled=True

Ensure your server ports (default 17777 UDP and 27015 UDP) are properly forwarded.

How to Join (Cross-Platform)

The most reliable way for Epic Games players to join a server hosted by a Steam user (or vice versa) is via Direct IP.

Method 1: Server Browser

  1. Launch Icarus.
  2. Select your character and click Join.
  3. Navigate to the Dedicated Servers tab.
  4. Use the search bar to find the server name.

Method 2: Direct IP (Recommended)

If the server doesn't appear in the browser due to backend issues:

  1. Go to the Dedicated Servers tab.
  2. Click the Direct Connect button.
  3. Enter the IP Address and Port (e.g., 192.168.1.50:17777).
  4. If the server has a password, enter it when prompted.

Troubleshooting

  • "Connection Failed": Verify that your firewall allows traffic on UDP port 17777.
  • Version Mismatch: Icarus updates frequently. Ensure both the server (via SteamCMD) and your client are on the exact same version.
