V Rising Roadmap 2026: Maintenance Support, New Game & What Hosts Should Plan For
The V Rising 2026 outlook — Stunlock Studios’ post-Oakveil maintenance plan, the separate new game in the V Rising universe, and what dedicated-server admins running clan-based vampire communities should plan around.
Where Stunlock Communicates
Stunlock publishes dev blog posts on the official V Rising site, plus Steam News for patch announcements. The studio prefers iterative communication over multi-year roadmap commitments; the latest direction update says no new V Rising content update is currently in development.
Where the Game Stands Now
V Rising hit 1.0 in May 2024. Since then, the major Invaders of Oakveil free expansion (April 2025) added the Oakveil Woodlands biome, the Serpent Queen storyline, the PvP duel arena system, plus seven new spells and four new weapons. In its March 2026 direction update, Stunlock said the journey to Dracula is complete as it stands and that no new V Rising content update is currently in development.
| Update | What landed | Server impact |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 (May 2024) | Full release, story complete, PS5 launch | Dedicated server tooling matured |
| Invaders of Oakveil (April 2025) | Oakveil Woodlands, Serpent Queen, PvP arenas, 7 spells, 4 weapons | RAM uptick on 16-player worlds; arena instances add server-tick load |
Stunlock’s Current Official Position
- No new content update is currently in development — do not plan around a V Rising 1.2 or another 2026 expansion
- Maintenance continues as needed — Stunlock intends to ship balance and bug-fix patches when necessary
- Official mod tools are not planned at the stated standard — Stunlock says the current game structure limits what it can support
- A separate new game in the V Rising universe is in early development — this is not a V Rising content update or a 2026 server feature promise
What Is Not Announced
- No new biome, region, PvP mode, clan/faction system, or castle-siege expansion has been announced for V Rising
- No date has been announced for the separately developed new game
- Community requests and old speculation should not be presented as the 2026 V Rising roadmap
What Server Admins Should Plan For in 2026
Hardware
V Rising scales reasonably with player count and clan size. Practical thresholds:

Persistent castles, automatic backups, easy upgrades. Try our V Rising Castle Planner while you’re here.
See V Rising plans →Castle decay tuning
V Rising’s castle decay system is the long-running PvP balance lever. Server config exposes decay rates, raid windows, and clan-size limits — review these on every major patch since defaults sometimes shift.
PvP arena instances
Duel arenas added in Oakveil consume server resources per active match. If your community runs frequent tournaments, monitor server load and consider scheduling tournament windows on lower-population times.
Bottom Line
V Rising in 2026 is a maintenance-support story, not a confirmed annual expansion cycle. Stunlock says balance and bug-fix patches may continue, but it is not currently developing a new content update. Hosts can treat existing worlds as comparatively stable, while still testing patches and keeping backups before applying changes.
