Enshrouded Base Planner: Biome Picks + Building Tiers
Free interactive Enshrouded biome and base-planning reference above — toggle between Biomes (where to settle, resources, threats) and Building Tiers (Cabin → Stone House → Estate → Manor with comfort-level NPC unlocks). Updated for Enshrouded 1.0+. Mobile-first. Each pick deep-links via URL.
How Enshrouded base placement works
Each biome has a Flame Altar that you must light to claim it. Lighting an altar unlocks the next Comfort tier, which unlocks new NPCs (Blacksmith → Brewer → Alchemist → Lifesmith). Comfort progression is the real backbone of base-building: you can’t skip it, and certain NPCs (especially the Alchemist for cleanse pots) are essential before tackling shroud-veiled zones.
Biome decision matrix
- Lowlands — spawn area, safe meadows, first base territory. Build a cabin here for the Blacksmith + Hunter NPCs.
- Revelwood / Springlands — mid-tier, where most groups build their main base. Stone House + Comfort 2–3.
- Kindlewastes — desert. Outpost only (heat resistance gear required). Comfort 3 altar guarded by Burning Wraith.
- Nomad Highlands — snow biome. Late-game outpost. Comfort 4. Frost Witch is the hardest gate-keeper boss.
- Shroud-veiled zones — raid territory. No bases. Bring cleanse pots and run.
Building tier guide
- Cabin (Comfort 1) — wood walls, days 1–5, gets you Blacksmith + Hunter
- Stone House (Comfort 2) — cobblestone + bricks, days 5–15, adds Brewer + Farmer + Carpenter
- Estate (Comfort 3) — carved stone + sandstone, days 15–25, adds Alchemist + Adventurer (mandatory before Kindlewastes)
- Manor / Keep (Comfort 4) — mithril + marble, day 25+, endgame fortress with Lifesmith healing

FAQ
- Should my main base be in Lowlands or Revelwood?
- Revelwood. Lowlands is starter; Revelwood is where most ore tiers, NPCs, and farming opportunities cluster. Most groups end up moving to Revelwood by day 10.
- Is Comfort 4 worth grinding to?
- Yes for groups doing endgame shroud raids (Lifesmith healing matters). Solo casual players often stop at Comfort 3 with the Alchemist unlocked.
- How big does my base need to be?
- Comfort tier matters more than raw size. Aim for “enough rooms for each NPC + one bedroom + crafting hall” per tier.
