The Palworld and Terraria crossover finally has a date. Announced a month ago and now confirmed for June 25, Tides of Terraria is Pocketpair’s biggest content drop of 2026 so far, and it is not a cosmetic collab: it adds a new dungeon type, a fishing system, new progression gear, and the largest batch of new Pals since Feybreak. This page tracks everything officially confirmed, and what to do if you run a Palworld dedicated server for your group.
Everything confirmed in Tides of Terraria
- ~27 new Pals. The batch is water-heavy (fitting the “Tides” theme) plus Terraria crossover Pals. The headliner is a tamable, rideable take on Terraria’s Eye of Cthulhu boss with its own elemental kit.
- The Terraria Dungeon. A new dungeon where Terraria monsters spawn in Palworld. Materials from those monsters craft the Terraria-themed gear, so the dungeon is the progression loop, not a side gimmick.
- Six weapons and seven armor sets. Confirmed gear includes the Meowmere and the Terra Blade, alongside new rifles and a shotgun.
- Fishing. One of the most-requested systems since launch is finally in.
- Affinity system. Time spent with a Pal builds a bond that unlocks stat boosts. Pocketpair also confirmed you can finally “sleep together with your Pals,” in their words: “stop asking.”
- Free, v0.6.0, all platforms simultaneously. PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on the same day. You do not need to own Terraria.

The systems, in detail
Fishing
Fishing has been on the community wishlist since early access launch, and Pocketpair confirmed it ships with this update rather than as a separate quality-of-life patch. The announcement frames it as a full system, not a minigame bolt-on: a water-themed update with a water-themed Pal batch strongly suggests fishing feeds into taming and resources, the way ranching feeds into materials today. What has not been confirmed is whether fish are catchable Pals, crafting inputs, food, or all three, and whether dedicated servers get fishing-related rate settings. The affinity system
The second headline system is affinity: time spent with a Pal builds a bond, and the bond unlocks stat boosts. Mechanically this is a long-session retention system, and it matters for multiplayer more than it first looks: bonds reward keeping the same team rather than rotating a box of optimized breeders, which nudges players toward attachment over spreadsheet play. Pocketpair also confirmed, in their own words, that you can finally “sleep together with your Pals,” adding “stop asking.” The announcement does not say whether affinity progress is tracked per-world or per-Pal, which matters for anyone moving saves between a local game and a dedicated server.
The Terraria Dungeon
The dungeon is the structural heart of the crossover. Terraria monsters spawn inside a new dungeon type, and the materials they drop are the crafting inputs for the Terraria-themed gear. That makes it a repeatable progression loop: groups will farm the dungeon the way they farm raid bosses today. For server admins, repeatable dungeon farming is a concurrency pattern: groups schedule runs together, sessions get longer, and a server that comfortably idled at two players starts seeing six players online at once on dungeon nights.
The gear: Meowmere, Terra Blade, and friends
Six weapons and seven armor sets are confirmed, with the Meowmere (Terraria’s rainbow-cat-projectile meme sword) and the Terra Blade called out by name, alongside new rifles and a shotgun for Palworld’s gun-shaped side of the arsenal. The interesting question for balance-minded admins is where this gear slots into the existing progression curve: if Terraria weapons rival endgame oil-rig loot, dungeon farming becomes the new optimal path and your veteran players will be in it on day one.
The new Pals, and what they mean for breeding
Roughly 27 new Pals arrive in the batch, water-focused plus crossover designs, headlined by the tamable, rideable Eye of Cthulhu. Every large Pal batch reshapes the breeding meta: new species mean new breeding-power values, new passive pools, and new optimal parents, and within days the community calculators will map them. Why this update matters more than a normal patch

Tides of Terraria stacks three multipliers on top of that pattern. First, it is the largest content batch of 2026 so far. Second, it borrows the gravitational pull of Terraria, one of the best-selling games ever made, whose community has been watching this collab since the studios first teased it. Third, it launches on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation simultaneously, so the wave is not staggered across platforms the way earlier console catch-up patches were.
If you host a server, the practical translation: expect the biggest join wave of the year. Lapsed players come back for fishing and the dungeon, Terraria players try Palworld for the first time, and mixed-platform friend groups finally have a same-day reason to play together. The servers that capture that wave are the ones already updated, already backed up, and already advertising slots when the patch goes live.
Server admin checklist for June 25
- Back up before you update. v0.6.0 is a major version bump. Take a manual world backup before the server updates, on top of your scheduled ones. On a managed Supercraft Palworld server that is one click in the panel; self-hosters should copy the

- Test vanilla before re-enabling mods. UE4SS and pak mods regularly break on major Palworld versions. Boot vanilla, confirm stability, then re-add mods as authors ship v0.6.0 updates.
- Plan capacity for the spike. If your server has been quiet, the June 25 wave is when slots fill up again. Dungeon runs and fishing trips mean more concurrent players staying online longer.
- Check crossplay settings. With the update launching on every platform at once, mixed-platform groups will want in; see which platform combinations work on dedicated servers.
Patch-day playbook: the two hours around the update
Major Palworld updates follow a predictable patch-day rhythm, and knowing it saves your group an evening of frustration. The server build and the client build rarely go live at the exact same minute on every platform and storefront. In that window, players who updated cannot join servers that have not, and vice versa, which produces a flood of “connection timed out” reports that look like server failures but are version skew. The right move is to announce a maintenance window to your group in advance, stop the server, take the manual backup, update, and bring it back once the client patch is broadly available.
On managed hosting the update step itself is handled for you; on self-hosted boxes, watch for SteamCMD picking up the new build and remember that console players may receive the patch minutes to hours apart from Steam. Keep the first session vanilla if you run mods. If the world loads, players join, and nothing crashes for an hour, then start re-enabling your mod stack in small batches. The failure mode to avoid is updating the server, re-enabling fifteen mods, crashing on boot, and not knowing which layer broke.
