Cobblemon Commands (2026): Full List, Spawn and Give Syntax

Cobblemon Commands: Full List and Syntax (2026)

Read on October 25, 2026 from the Cobblemon 1.8.2 mod, as the official Cobblemon modpack installs it on our test server: the command names, arguments and permission levels are the ones registered in the mod itself.

Cobblemon adds its own commands to Minecraft for spawning, giving, healing and editing Pokémon. Almost all of them are operator commands: they need permission level 2, the level Minecraft gives to cheat commands, and a few need level 4. Below: how to turn them on, how to spawn and give Pokémon, the properties those commands read, and every command with its syntax. Cobblemon itself is made by the Cobblemon team.

How to use Cobblemon commands (cheats)

  • Single player: turn on Allow Commands (Allow Cheats in older versions) when you create the world, or choose Open to LAN with commands allowed to switch them on for the current session.
  • On a server: make yourself an operator by typing op YourName in the server console. Operators get level 4 by default, which covers every Cobblemon command.
  • From the console: the commands also run there without the leading slash, for example pokegiveother Steve pikachu.
  • Command blocks can run the level 2 commands, if the server allows command blocks; ours ship with enable-command-block=false.

Each short command is an alias of a longer one, so /pokespawn and /spawnpokemon do the same thing.

How to spawn a Pokémon in Cobblemon

/pokespawn (long form /spawnpokemon) spawns a wild Pokémon where you stand. Give it the species, then any properties:

/pokespawn pikachu
/pokespawn charizard level=50
/pokespawn eevee shiny
/pokespawn mewtwo level=70

Legendaries spawn the same way as any other species. To place the Pokémon somewhere else, use /pokespawnat (/spawnpokemonat) with a position first: /pokespawnat 100 64 -20 bulbasaur. To spawn one of whatever would appear naturally around you, use /spawnpokemonfrompool, optionally with an amount.

How to give yourself a Pokémon

/pokegive (/givepokemon) gives you a Pokémon; /pokegiveother (/givepokemonother) gives one to another player:

/pokegive pikachu level=50 shiny
/pokegive random
/pokegiveother Steve squirtle nature=modest

Cobblemon accepts a species name or random. Without either it answers "You need to include a Pokémon name or 'random'".

Pokémon properties

The words after the species are properties, read the same way by /pokespawn, /pokegive, /pokemonedit and /pcsearch. Cobblemon 1.8.2 reads these:

PropertyExample
level (or lvl)level=50
shinyshiny
naturenature=modest
gendergender=female
ability, form, friendship, held_item, moves, nickname, pokeball, ivs, evs, tradeable, dmax_level, gmax_factorthe rest of what a Pokémon carries

Every Cobblemon command

Syntax as registered in Cobblemon 1.8.2. <slot> is a party slot, 1 to 6; arguments in square brackets are optional. Level is the permission level the command needs by default.

No undo: /clearparty, /clearpc and /pokemonrestart delete a player's Pokémon. Take a world backup before running them on a server people play on.

Giving these commands to staff without making them operators

Cobblemon defines a permission for each command, named cobblemon. plus the command, for example cobblemon.command.givepokemon.self, cobblemon.command.givepokemon.other, cobblemon.command.spawnpokemon, cobblemon.command.healpokemon.self and cobblemon.command.pc. If your server runs a permissions mod, these are the names to grant, so a moderator can heal or give Pokémon without full operator rights.

Commands not working?

  • "Unknown or incomplete command": you are not an operator, or the world was made without commands allowed. See the first section.
  • The species is rejected: Cobblemon answers "Invalid Pokémon name". Check the spelling of the species' English name.
  • The box number fails: /pc refuses a box higher than the player's box count.
