Necesse Multiplayer Permissions & Teams Guide

Necesse Multiplayer Permissions and Teams

Necesse has separate layers for team membership, object/settlement access, and dedicated-server command permissions. Put friends on the same team for shared play, protect private objects through the game's own interface, and grant server power only to people who need it.

Team commands

CommandPurpose
/createteamCreates a team for the caller.
/invite <player>Invites a player to the caller's team.
/leaveteamLeaves the current team.
/getteam <player>Shows a player's team when the caller has the required permission.
/clearteam <player>Removes a player from a team when permitted.

Use /help on the current build for the exact command syntax. Team membership is not the same thing as dedicated-server moderator or owner permission.

Protect containers and settlements

Use the lock or permission controls exposed by the object or settlement UI. Check the resulting access with a second account before inviting strangers. Labels and available options can vary by object and build, so avoid promising a universal “team/private/public” sequence without seeing the current UI.

Dedicated-server permission levels

The server command permission path is separate from teams. An owner can assign a permission level with:

/permissions set <name> <permission>
/mypermissions

The admin-command guide covers moderator, admin, and owner examples. Keep -owner "AdminName" limited to the person who should receive the initial owner role.

PvP and friendly fire

Agree on PvP rules before building a shared settlement and verify the current world setting in-game. Do not paste a generic /pvp force command into a server guide unless /help in the current Necesse build documents it.

Private server checklist

  1. Set a join password with the server workflow.
  2. Give owner/admin permission only to trusted accounts.
  3. Create a team and invite the intended players.
  4. Test a chest, door, or settlement permission with the least-privileged account.
  5. Back up the world before changing permissions or using admin commands.
