Palworld: Egg Incubator & Hatching Optimization
Breeding the perfect Pal with 4 Gold passives is a marathon, not a sprint, but hatching time is configurable. The shipped dedicated-server default for PalEggDefaultHatchingTime is 1.0; a value of 72.0 is a custom long-hatch setting, not the default. Egg size and temperature affect the time you actually see.

1. The Server Setting
PalEggDefaultHatchingTime is the number of hours a huge egg takes to hatch; other eggs have their own incubation times. Setting it to 0 makes all eggs hatch instantly. The dedicated server ships with 1, one hour for a huge egg.
2. Temperature HUD
Every egg has a preferred temperature. A "Comfy" egg hatches 100% faster. Check the incubator's UI to see if it says "State: Neutral," "A bit cold," or "A bit hot."
3. Electric Incubator
Unlocked at Level 36 on the Palworld technology tree, the Electric Egg Incubator automatically adjusts its internal temperature to match the egg's needs, removing the need for heaters or coolers.
How to Change Hatching Time (Admin)
If you are the server owner, you can change the global hatching speed across the whole world:
- Navigate to your Supercraft Panel and Stop the server.
- Open the Config tab (or edit
PalWorldSettings.inimanually, keeping every setting inside its singleOptionSettings=(...)line). - Locate the setting
PalEggDefaultHatchingTime. - Change the value:
- 0: Instant hatching.
- 0.1: 10x faster than default.
- 1.0: Standard dedicated server speed.
- Save and Start your server.

Note: Multiple heaters or coolers do not stack. One Electric Heater provides the same internal temperature boost to an incubator as five heaters. To reach higher temps, you must physically move the base to a hotter biome.
