SCP: Secret Laboratory Server Not Showing Up
When an SCP:SL server is missing from the browser, separate discovery from joining. The server may be running while the public listing is filtered, delayed or blocked by the game port.
Check these layers
- Confirm the process stays alive after startup and reaches a ready state.
- Check the configured port and the firewall rule. The common default is
7777, not a universal requirement. - Confirm the server is not intentionally unlisted or hidden behind a private configuration.
- Clear client filters and search by the exact server name.
- Try direct connection with the public address and assigned port.
What the result tells you
| Result | Likely layer |
|---|---|
| LAN works, Internet does not | Router forwarding, firewall or public address. |
| Direct connection works, browser does not | Visibility, central listing or client filter. |
| Direct connection fails immediately | Wrong port, stopped process or build mismatch. |
| Join starts then rejects | Client/server version or plugin compatibility. |
Do not open Remote Admin ports to the Internet just because the game server is not listed. Fix the game path first and keep administration restricted.
For private visibility and whitelist behavior, read how to make a private SCP:SL server. Managed ports are shown in SCP:SL hosting.
