Stationeers Load an Existing World: -file start, Station Name & World ID

Load an Existing Stationeers World

Stationeers identifies a saved world by the station name passed to the server. If the name or path changes, the server may correctly start a new station and make the old one look lost.

Use the start command deliberately

rocketstation_DedicatedServer.x86_64 \
  -file start MyStation Europa

The station name is required. World, difficulty, start condition and location arguments are used when a new station is created; an existing station should resolve to its saved state.

Import checklist

  1. Stop the destination server and make a backup of its current files.
  2. Copy the complete source station into the destination save path.
  3. Keep the exact station name and any custom SavePath.
  4. Use the matching server branch and Workshop collection.
  5. Start once and verify the expected base before inviting players.
A blank station after import is usually an identity or path problem before it is a corruption problem. Preserve the source copy and compare the launch arguments first.

See the backup and restore guide or use managed Stationeers hosting for file-assisted migration.
