VEIN Multiplayer Guide: Co-op Groups, Roles & Server Maintenance

VEIN Multiplayer and Co-op Guide

VEIN's persistent zombie-survival loop rewards a group that treats the base, supplies, and server as shared responsibilities. Use these roles as conventions; they are not a claim that the game requires a fixed class system.

Useful group roles

RoleFocus
ScoutMaps routes, reports threats, and brings back location evidence.
QuartermasterOrganizes shared food, medical supplies, tools, and emergency reserve.
BuilderKeeps the base accessible, defensible, and easy to extend.
Vehicle/transport leadCoordinates fuel, recovery, and return routes where the current build supports them.
Server operatorHandles access, backups, updates, logs, and join tests.

Start and end each session

  1. Set one objective and say what resources are communal.
  2. Keep a recovery reserve before leaving the base.
  3. Run difficult expeditions only after the current save is backed up.
  4. Return critical gear to marked storage.
  5. Report errors with build, time, player, and location.

Dedicated-server routine

Use the setup guide to prove a single join. Then test save/restart/reconnect before the group relies on the world. Keep the branch and build visible in the group chat, because VEIN has main and experimental lines.

When co-op feels unstable

Compare one player's symptoms with the rest of the crew. If everyone pauses, inspect the server process and logs. If only one person fails, inspect their route and client. Use connection checks and troubleshooting.
