StarRupture Roadmap 2026: Early Access, Update 1, and the Road to 1.0
StarRupture is in Early Access and shipping on a visible monthly rhythm: a large Update 1, a run of hotfixes, and a developer blog every month describing what is being built next. Here is the confirmed picture.
Last updated 26 August 2026. Every date below is from the studio’s own posts; nothing here is inferred.
Where the game stands
Update 1 is the reference point. The studio described it as packed with new content, mechanics and in-game changes needed to expand the game toward the 1.0 release, and has been iterating with smaller hotfixes since. Recent examples give the shape of that work:
- Hotfix 0.2.7 (11 June) fixed a crash when deconstructing buildings, and a multiplayer issue where dialogue was skipped for the client when the host was far away
- Hotfix 0.2.8 (17 June) fixed a crash on exit affecting NVIDIA RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs
A crash-report tool with a response window was also added, aimed at faster self-troubleshooting.
What the August 2026 blog previewed
The current development focus is construction quality of life, which matters on shared servers where several players build in the same space:
- Add Pillars in Building Mode: automatically adds pillars to buildings placed at any height, and can be toggled off for a more open base when stability allows
- Automatic pillar height adjustment: pillars adapt to the platforms above them
These are previews from a developer blog, not shipped patch notes. Treat them as direction until they appear in a version.
What server admins should plan for
An Early Access factory game on a monthly hotfix cadence has predictable operational needs:
- Back up before every update. Base-building changes are exactly the class of change that interacts with saved structures.
- Expect version matching. Clients and server need to be on the same build; plan a short window after each hotfix.
- Watch the blogs, not the rumours. The studio publishes a developer blog monthly on Steam. That is where the roadmap actually is.
What is not confirmed
There is no announced 1.0 date, no published content calendar beyond the current blog previews, and no stated server-hardware change. Anything you read describing a specific StarRupture release schedule is not coming from the studio’s own posts.
Bottom line
StarRupture is mid-Early-Access with an honest, visible cadence: monthly blogs, frequent hotfixes, and an explicit path toward 1.0 without a date attached. For server owners that means routine discipline, not big-bang planning.
