Endnight publishes patch notes on Steam News. Communication has been less frequent post-1.0 than during Early Access — typical post-launch cadence.

Where the Game Stands

Sons of the Forest hit 1.0 in February 2024. Patches through 2024 addressed multiplayer stability, AI balance and content polish; the last content patch was the rafts and defensive-wall update of 15 January 2025, with hotfixes on 20 and 21 January. The only change since is a Unity engine security rebuild on 3 October 2025 (dedicated server build 20228410), which is the build our servers run. The game is in maintenance.

What’s Confirmed for 2026

• Nothing, as of 7 October 2026. Endnight has announced no 2026 update on Steam. The last content patch is from 15 January 2025 and the last build change from 3 October 2025.
• Multiplayer stability is where the 2024 patches went; the studio has not said anything is in progress.
