Conan Exiles Admin Commands & Cheats (2026): Full Reference
Every Conan Exiles admin command and cheat a server admin actually uses, with real examples. This is also the admin tools reference: it covers the in-game admin panel, the chat console, common spawn commands, the cheat modes (God, Ghost, Fly), and remote administration over RCON. Tested against the 2026 build.
Running Enhanced on console? Our Conan Exiles Enhanced PS5 and Xbox status guide covers what the UE5 rebuild changed for console players and cross-platform servers.

How to become admin
Two paths:
- Server-side: Set
AdminPassword=yourpasswordinServerSettings.iniand restart. In-game, open Settings → Server Settings, enter the password, click Make Me Admin. The Admin Panel is now in your menu. - Single-player or LAN: Pause → Settings → Admin Panel (no password needed).
The Admin Panel (no commands needed)
Most actions don't need typed commands. Open the panel for tabs covering:
- Player List: teleport, kick, ban, message any connected player.
- Item Spawner: search any item, stack count, give to self or selected player.
- Cheat Modes: Ghost (fly), Invisibility, God Mode, No Sprint Cost, Fly.
- Time of Day & Weather: jump to dawn/noon/dusk/midnight, set weather state.
- Avatar & Purge: trigger god avatars or purge events on demand.
Patch 3.0.0 (6 October 2026) fixed admin invisibility. If the Invisibility toggle did nothing on your server, update the server first.
Console commands
Open the console with the tilde key (~) and type the command without a slash. The names and arguments below are the ones the 2026 server build defines.
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
MakeMeAdmin <AdminPassword> | Become admin with the server's admin password |
MakeMeNormal | Give up admin rights again |
SpawnItem <ItemID> <Quantity> | Spawn an item by numeric ID |
TeleportPlayer <X> <Y> <Z> | Teleport yourself to coordinates |
TeleportToPlayer <PlayerID> | Teleport yourself to a player |
SummonPlayer <PlayerID> | Pull a player to your position |
Listing, kicking and banning players are RCON commands (listplayers, kickplayer, banplayer); their exact syntax is in the RCON section below.
Cheat-mode console commands (work in dev console only)
Press the tilde (~) key after enabling the dev console to access these. Some require admin status.
God: toggle invincibility for the targeted character.Ghost: noclip / fly through walls.Walk: exit ghost mode.Fly: flight without noclip.SpawnNPC <BlueprintName>: spawn an NPC by class name.Stat fps: show FPS counter (debugging).
RCON commands
If you administer remotely (no game client running), use RCON. The server's help command lists 25 commands; these are the ones admins use most:
listplayers: connected players and their IDs.broadcast <message>: server-wide announcement.kickplayer (index|name|userid|platformid|player) <identification> <message>: kick a player, picked by list index, name or ID.banplayer (index|name|userid|platformid|player) <identification> <message>,unbanplayer <userid|platformid>andlistbans.whitelistplayer <userid|platformid>andunwhitelistplayer <userid|platformid>.GetServerSetting <Setting Name>andSetServerSetting <Setting Name> <Setting Value>: read or change a setting on the running server. SetServerSetting answers "Setting ... to ..." even when it rejects the value, so read it back with GetServerSetting.con <id> <command>: run a regular console command as an online player.shutdownandrestart.
There is no RCON save command. The server keeps its own rotating game_0_backup_*.db copies of the world; to snapshot it before risky work, stop the server and copy the .db file.
Common admin tasks (recipes)
Refund a lost legendary chest
Open Admin Panel → Item Spawner → search "Sealed Legendary Chest" → give to player from the player list.
Pull a stuck player out of a wall
Open Admin Panel → Player List → select player → Teleport To Me. Or SummonPlayer <PlayerID> in the console.
Force a Purge for an event
Admin Panel → Purge tab → Trigger Purge for selected clan.
Reset day/night for a screenshot session
Admin Panel → Time of Day → pick the hour. Lock with the freeze toggle if you want it stationary.
Common Questions
Can I assign different admin levels?
Conan supports a basic admin / non-admin toggle out of the box. For multi-tier admin (moderator vs full admin), install the Pippi mod: Pippi adds permission groups, command logging, and granular role rules.
Where do I find item IDs?
The Admin Panel's Item Spawner is the easiest source. The community-maintained Item ID list on the fandom wiki is the canonical text reference.
Can console players use admin commands?
Yes, on console servers the Admin Panel works the same way (set the password in server settings, then "Make Me Admin"). Console servers do not have the dev console (~), so cheat-mode commands like God/Ghost are reached through the panel toggles instead.
MakeMeAdmin password not working (refreshed 2026-05-21)
A common gotcha for admins setting up a private dedicated server for the first time: you set AdminPassword, you start the server, you join, you type MakeMeAdmin yourpassword into the in-game chat, and nothing happens. No admin access. No error. The chat just shows your typed command.
Most common cause: edit window vs running server
The single most frequent root cause is the order of operations. The server writes ServerSettings.ini itself, so if you edit it while the server is running, the server may overwrite your changes on the next save. The result: you correctly set the password, the server overwrote it with its in-memory blank value, and MakeMeAdmin now compares against blank, so it never matches.
Correct sequence:
- STOP the server completely (process exited, not just disconnect).
- Edit
ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini(LinuxServerinstead ofWindowsServeron a Linux server).AdminPasswordis a[ServerSettings]key; that is where the game ships it, not in Engine.ini. - Set
AdminPassword=YourStrongPasswordwith no spaces around the=. Conan's ServerSettings.ini parser silently ignores a line written asAdminPassword = YourStrongPassword. - Save the file.
- Start the server.
- Join the server.
- Type
MakeMeAdmin YourStrongPasswordin the console. You should see "Admin rights granted".
Other causes if the sequence above doesn't fix it
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Command shows in chat as plain text | You typed it in the wrong chat channel (Say vs Server) or the / character was eaten | Use the in-game console (~ key) instead of chat. Type MakeMeAdmin YourPassword without the slash. |
| "Incorrect Admin Password" message | Password mismatch, usually an invisible character or trailing space in the INI | Re-edit the INI file, retype the password manually (don't paste), save with no trailing whitespace. |
| No response at all | AdminPassword set in the wrong INI file, or written with spaces around = | Set it in ServerSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] as AdminPassword=YourPassword, with no spaces. |
| Works for one player, not another | Player has the AdminPassword as their character name (rare but real corner case) | Have the player rename their character. |
| Was working, now doesn't | Server restart re-read the INI which got reverted by a backup-restore or panel update | Re-edit and re-save the INI. Confirm via type ServerSettings.ini | findstr AdminPassword on Windows or grep AdminPassword ServerSettings.ini on Linux. |
Setting AdminPassword via RCON (fallback)
If you have RCON access (port 25575 by default), you can see which admin password the running server actually holds, and try setting a new one, without touching the INI. Connect with an RCON client and run:
GetServerSetting AdminPassword
SetServerSetting AdminPassword YourNewPassword
GetServerSetting AdminPassword
Read it back after setting it: SetServerSetting replies as if it worked even when a value is rejected. RCON cannot make you admin without the password, because MakeMeAdmin takes the admin password as its only argument. RCON itself is authenticated by the RconPassword setting, separate from AdminPassword. See the RCON guide for the connection flow.
Confirming admin status
Once admin, press Shift+Insert (the default key binding) to open the admin panel. You should see categories for Cheats, Spawn Items, Game Settings, etc. If Shift+Insert does nothing, you are not admin: the MakeMeAdmin attempt failed silently. Go back to the sequence above.
Want a managed Conan server with the Admin Panel pre-configured? Rent a Conan Exiles server with Supercraft. The panel exposes admin password setup, role management, and Pippi installation as one-click options.
Admin tools: panels, RCON clients & mods
You administer a Conan Exiles server three ways, and you can mix them:
- In-game Admin Panel: the built-in tool covered above (player list, item spawner, cheat modes, time/weather). No external software needed.
- RCON: for remote moderation with no game client running. Connect any standard RCON client to the
RconPort(25575 by default) using yourRconPassword. See the RCON setup guide for the connection flow and the full command set. - Pippi mod: the community standard for richer admin tooling: permission tiers (moderator vs full admin), command logging, kits, and chat moderation beyond the vanilla admin/non-admin toggle. Install it via the mods installation guide.
- Managed web panel: most hosts expose admin password, role management, and RCON through a browser panel, so you never touch the INI by hand.
