Empyrion Dedicated-Server Admin Commands
Use the server console for operational commands and the panel for lifecycle actions. The most important command is the one that leaves the galaxy in a saved state before a restart or update.
Operational command pattern
| Action | Example | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Save and exit | saveandexit 0 | Before maintenance, backup or process shutdown. |
| Player moderation | kick <player> / ban <player> | Use the exact command syntax shown by the current server build. |
| Inspect available commands | help | Confirm syntax after a game update. |
Do not treat the console like a kill switch
- Warn players in chat and give them a short countdown.
- Save the galaxy before stopping the process.
- Wait for the process to exit before copying or updating files.
- Keep the last known-good backup until the next successful join.
Command names and arguments can change with Empyrion builds and scenarios. Use the help output from the running server rather than a copied list that omits the current build.
Managed Empyrion hosting gives you controlled restart and backup actions. Pair this page with the save restore guide.
