HumanitZ 1.0 Official Release: Dedicated Server Update Checklist

HumanitZ 1.0 released on February 6, 2026. If you run a dedicated server, plan for a full update and a fresh save.

Step-by-step checklist

  1. Announce downtime. Let your players know you are updating for the 1.0 release.
  2. Back up server data. Copy your entire save/config directory somewhere safe.
  3. Update via SteamCMD. Re-run your SteamCMD update command (and include validate if you suspect file issues).
  4. Create a new world/save. Plan a fresh start for 1.0.
  5. Re-apply configuration. Re-check settings like server name, password, max players, and any loot or PvP/PvE rules.
  6. Verify connectivity. Confirm ports/firewall rules are still correct and that players can connect.

2026 updates: the 1.09 patch series and the 2026 roadmap

Added July 3, 2026. Since 1.0, the developers have kept a steady patch cadence, and two late-June 2026 items matter for server owners:

  • The 1.09 hotfix series fixed several dedicated-server pain points: server save-file conflicts that caused data rollbacks, save-file bloating tied to pickup cleanup timers, mead crafting disconnecting players on dedicated servers, and a Swamps Scenario bug where dismantled furniture returned on load. If your server is on an older build, this patch alone is worth the restart.
  • The 2026 roadmap is out. The team published its 2026 roadmap in late June with new updates and major features planned through the year - so expect more update days ahead, and re-run the checklist above on each major patch (most content patches will not require a fresh save the way 1.0 did, but always check the patch notes first).
