Palworld Wheat Seeds: How to Get Them and Farm Wheat

Palworld Wheat Seeds: Where to Get Them

Wheat Seeds are what you plant in a Wheat Plantation to grow Wheat, which is milled into Flour for bread, cake and other cooked food. There are two practical ways to get Wheat Seeds in Palworld: buy them from a merchant, or take them as drops from Grass-type Pals. This page covers both, plus what you need before a plantation makes sense.

Buy Wheat Seeds from a Merchant

The most reliable source is the Wandering Merchant at the Small Settlement, the first town near the centre of the starting region. Wheat Seeds cost roughly 100 Gold each.

  • Fixed merchant: The Wandering Merchant at the Small Settlement stocks Wheat Seeds, so you can return and re-buy whenever you have Gold.
  • Roaming merchants: Wandering Merchants that walk routes between settlements, and ones that visit your base, can also carry Wheat Seeds. Their stock varies, so the fixed merchant is the dependable option.

Buying a small batch of seeds is usually the fastest way to start a plantation, after which the plantation produces its own supply.

Get Wheat Seeds from Pals

Several Grass-type Pals drop Wheat Seeds when you capture or defeat them. The most reliable early sources are Flopie and Bristla. Other Pals can also drop them.

Pal Element Notes
Flopie Grass Reliable early-game source of Wheat Seeds
Bristla Grass Reliable early-game source of Wheat Seeds
Cinnamoth Grass Can drop Wheat Seeds
Robinquill / Robinquill Terra Grass Can drop Wheat Seeds
Dinossom Grass / Dragon Can drop Wheat Seeds; found in the wider grassland areas near the Plateau of Beginnings

Catching these Pals rather than defeating them lets you put them to work, and a captured Pal still yields its drops. Flopie and Bristla are weak Grass Pals, so almost any starter team can farm them.

Setting Up Your Wheat Farm

Once you have a steady seed supply, a Wheat Plantation turns it into renewable Wheat so you stop relying on merchants and hunting. Wheat grows in a dedicated Wheat Plantation, not the Berry Plantation.

  • Wheat Plantation: Unlocks at Technology Level 15 (2 Technology Points). Recipe: 3 Wheat Seeds, 35 Wood, 35 Stone - the seeds are consumed by construction, so gather at least 3 before building.
  • Placement: Flat ground inside your base, with room to add more plantations later.
  • Jobs it needs: Planting (sows), Watering (grows), Gathering (harvests to storage). Assign Pals that cover all three.

After your first harvest you will gather enough seeds to keep replanting without buying or hunting more.

Best Pals for the Farm

Planting:

  • Lyleen - Planting Lv4, the highest in the game; also Handiwork Lv3 and Medicine Production Lv3.
  • Broncherry - Planting Lv3 with no competing jobs, so it stays on the field.
  • Petallia - Planting Lv3, plus Handiwork Lv2 and Medicine Production Lv2.
  • Verdash - Planting Lv2, plus Handiwork Lv3.

Watering (none of the strong planters above water, so pair them):

  • Jormuntide - Watering Lv4, the top option for a large farm.
  • Azurobe - Watering Lv3.
  • Teafant - Watering Lv2, an easy early-game pick.
  • Pengullet / Fuack - Low-level watering, fine as a stopgap.

Layout Tips

  • Keep the plantation, a storage chest, and the Mill close together so Pals do not waste time walking.
  • Put a Feed Box nearby so working Pals stay fed and do not stop to look for food.
  • Build extra plantations once you have spare seeds to scale up output.

Milling Wheat into Flour

  • Mill: Unlocks at Technology Level 15 (2 Technology Points). Recipe: 50 Wood, 40 Stone.
  • Conversion: 3 Wheat produce 1 Flour.
  • Power: The Mill runs on a Watering Pal - the higher its Watering level, the faster it processes. It will not run without one.

What Flour Is Used For

Wheat is milled into Flour, which is the base ingredient for several cooked dishes. Verified recipes include:

Dish Ingredients
Bread 1 Flour
Pancake 1 Flour, 1 Milk
Pizza 1 Flour, 2 Red Berries, 2 Tomato, 2 Milk
Cake 5 Flour, 8 Red Berries, 7 Milk, 8 Egg, 2 Honey

Cake is the main reason to keep a steady Flour supply, since it is required for breeding Pals at the Breeding Farm.

Wheat not growing

  • Make sure a Watering Pal is assigned and not stuck or asleep.

  • Check that a Planting Pal is available to sow.

Pals not working the farm

  • Verify the Pals have the right work suitabilities (Planting, Watering, Gathering).
  • Keep the Feed Box stocked - hungry Pals stop working.
  • Check work priorities in the base management menu and that paths to the plantation are clear.
