- Megalab — Equipment Traits can now be upgraded directly.

Major 2026 Updates by Date
February 11–18: Love Ascended Event
Annual themed event with custom drop tables, decorative items, and breeding/taming bonuses. Configurable on unofficial servers via the standard event flags. If you want it active outside the official window, set -ActiveEvent=Vday in your launch args.
February 25: Pyranthos (Astraeos Expansion)
New desert landmass added to Astraeos. Server admins running Astraeos can opt-in via the standard map update path:
- Stop the dedicated server.
- Run
SteamCMD app_update 2430930 validate(server-app ID). - Restart with the existing
?Map=Astraeos_WPlaunch arg — new content loads automatically. - Existing tribe bases, dinos, and structures persist.
Expect new resource nodes and creatures specific to the desert biome. See Astraeos setup guide for the full setup walkthrough.
April: UE5.7 Performance Upgrade
Target April 2026. Studio Wildcard upgraded from UE5.5 to UE5.7. Headline benefit: 30–40% performance gain on both CPU and GPU. For server admins this means:
- Lower per-server CPU draw → can host more slots on the same hardware.
- Mods that hooked specific UE5.5 internals may break — verify mod compatibility before pushing the patch.
- Save backups before patching — UE engine version bumps occasionally trigger save-format migrations.

Lost Colony Cave Reductions (Mid-2026)
Cave entrances on the Lost Colony map were narrowed to improve PvP viability and make caves more defensible. If you run a Lost Colony PvP server:
- Existing cave bases may need adjustment — some interior layouts now have tighter entry chokepoints.
- Re-evaluate base defense plans for the affected caves.
- Tribes that built around the old entrance widths should test before next raid.
Megalab Equipment Traits
Equipment Traits can now be upgraded directly inside the Megalab. Practical impact:
- Faster gear progression for high-end PvE/PvP.
- Less reliance on RNG drops to fish for trait combinations.
- Trait pools may be rebalanced — review your tribe's gear sets after a Megalab visit.
Looking Forward (2026–2027)

SavedArks/folder. - Check mod compatibility — CurseForge / Workshop pages flag patch compatibility within hours of release.
- Patch via SteamCMD validate to detect corrupted files post-update.
- Restart the server and watch logs for first 5 minutes.
- Communicate downtime via Discord webhook or panel broadcast.
- Verify cluster sync if running multi-map clusters — both maps need to be on the same patch.
