Wurm Unlimited Visible on LAN but Not Internet
LAN visibility proves that the server process and local client can communicate. It does not prove that Steam query traffic or the public client port can reach the host.
Check the public path
- Confirm the server’s external IP is public and correct.
- Check
externalportandqueryport. - Allow the client port and Steam query range through the firewall.
- Forward ports to the machine running the selected game database.
- Refresh the Internet tab and try direct connection.
Result table
| Observation | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| LAN only | Public forwarding or query path is incomplete. |
| Internet listed, direct join fails | Client port or external IP is wrong. |
| Direct join works, list is delayed | Steam discovery/cache issue. |
Do not expose RMI while diagnosing browser visibility. The player path and the administration path are separate.
For exact port roles, see Wurm server ports and managed Wurm hosting.
