Wurm Unlimited wurm.ini and Launcher Settings
Wurm’s launcher options and wurm.ini describe different layers. The launcher selects the database and network identity; the INI controls deeper world and server behavior.
Settings that define the server
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
servername | Name shown in the server browser. |
externalport | Client connection port. |
queryport | Steam browser query port. |
maxplayers | Player ceiling. |
pvp / Epic settings | The server’s social and progression rules. |
IS_GAME_SERVER | Whether direct player login is allowed. |
Safe edit order
- Stop the selected game database cleanly.
- Back up the database directory and current INI.
- Change one setting group and preserve Java properties syntax.
- Start the same database and verify the browser name and port.
- Join with a GM account before public players return.
If the launcher starts a different database, a perfect
wurm.ini edit appears to have no effect. Confirm the selected world folder first. For map and rate choices, see the Wurm setup guide. Managed settings and restarts are available through Wurm Unlimited hosting.
